dc.description.abstractIn order to avoid sub-optimization of the environmental performance of a product during design, eco-design is a holistic approach that considers the potential environmental impacts of a product life cycle during design, in order to decrease them.This approach has been followed in the redesign of the 200LR, an elbow connector for medium voltage network, using quantitative life cycle assessment as the main tool for ecodesign.Important improvements in term of environmental impacts were achieved thanks to a more compact design that fulfills all technical requirements.
