Abstract
Beyond remote meter reading and other meter operation use cases, powerline communication-based smart meters are offering new opportunities for grid operation and maintenance. Phase detection is one of them. The proposed paper deals with a solution enabling local phase detection taking advantage of the existing PLC communication network deployed over the low voltage public distribution grid. This paper presents the result of the joint effort by Fameca Electronics, Enedis and EDF R&D in the context of the deployment of 35 million Linky smart meters in France.
