Abstract

Purpose of distribution system operator is to build appropriate powerful distribution network and appropriate voltage conditions to provide safe, reliable and quality network operation for supplying users. Nowadays data in our information systems is duplicated and on the other hand there are data gaps. With our CIM project which includes integration of technical information systems using CIM standards we will unify data models and define the single point of truth.Within the integration of information systems we encountered the challenge such as:• How to make data model (information systems are not prepared for CIM modelling, we need to customize information systems to support XML and RDF message exchange),• Data security (regarding to the terms of General Data Protection Regulation),• Data integrity (defining the source system for assets, meter data, network model and customer information) and• Performance issue (how to optimize initial import or export of large amount of data). The paper will describe how we addressed the problem with custom CIM model extensions, communication only through secure web services and ESB and with CIM repository.CIM project represents complex, long-term and multidisciplinary activity which enhances the interoperability of different information systems and thus improves dataorganization and its transparency.
