Abstract

In this paper results and observation from the Danish fault statistic on medium voltage (MV) PILC cables and their accessories are presented. Focus will be on the fault rate, but other observations from the fault statistics will also be addressed. The paper will also discuss how results from the fault statistics can be used by utilities in the management of their MV PILC cable system. In addition, the paper will discuss further informations that the Danish utilities consider relevant to c ollect, so that more well informed decisions can be made about the cable systems in the future.
