Abstract

This paper aims to describe the main outcomes of theADMS4LV project – Advanced Distribution ManagementSystem for Active Management of LV Grids. ADMS4LV isa R&D project that targets the development anddemonstration of a system with adequate tools to optimisethe management and operation of Low Voltage (LV)networks towards the effective implementation of SmartGrids. This work details the main functionalities ofADMS4LV and discusses their implementation. Resultsobtained from the demonstration, namely regarding thealgorithms which using advanced data analytics, accomplish to operate LV networks with lowobservability (i.e., with few real-time measurements) andwithout having full knowledge of the networks’ technicalcharacteristics, such as the consumers’ phase connection. The assessment of the results shows the adequacy of theADMS4LV solutions for deployment in distributionnetworks with current infrastructures deferringunnecessary investments in sensory devices
