Abstract

The subject addressed in this paper is the installation of single core power cables for temporary or semi-permanent connections in electrical grids. These connections are used more and more by (mainly) TSOs and DSOs worldwide during maintenance or repair work (e.g. after a power outage). In many cases the above cables are not installed appropriately. By carrying out a study on the subject as well as by questioning the parties involved more information about relevant aspects was gathered prior to the development of an all new purpose designed cable block: the ’temporary site cleat’(patent pending, introduction at CIRED 2019).
