Abstract
The Kansai Electric Co., Inc. (KANSAI), as grid operator, we operate and maintain a variety of distribution assets for reliable electricity supply. To manage these distribution assets properly, it is fundamental to build asset management strategy taking both deterioration mechanism and environmental factors. In KANSAI, we have Distribution Facility Certification Group (DFCG) as a specialized organization for in-house failure investigation. In DFCG, we conduct failure reproducibility test, residual performance test, and disassembly survey for replaced items, and identify the degradation part and the mechanism of degradation. DFCG contributes to grasp the trend of degradation / failure progress of the article, and to make facility repair plan utilizing the trend and environmental data together. Based on the facility repair plan, KANSAI implements facility repair/replacement taking total operation cost into account. In this paper, we introduce a survey result on cutout, which is a porcelain distribution line article, and a case of by prioritization as one example leading to effective asset management.
