Abstract
Aim of this paper is to explain the opportunity tointroduce cross-bonding connections in Medium Voltageextruded cable systems with high current rating, asusually done on High Voltage cable systems. Crossbonding connections allow the reduction of problems dueto the induced current circulation on metallic cablescreen when MV cable systems are solidly bonded, i.e.simply connected to ground potential at the circuit ends.A new type of MV joint with screen separation will benecessary for performing cross-bonding connections andconsequently some specific tests will be required for thequalification of these joints
