Abstract
With the increasing penetration of distributed photovoltaic (PV) units, the stable operation of distribution networks (DNs) is facing many challenges, the most severe of which are reverse power flow and voltage violation problem. In order to solve the voltage violation caused by high penetration of distributed PV units in DNs, this paper proposes a cluster autonomous optimization (CAO) control method for power system clusters. Based on intra-cluster measured data, each cluster implements CAO control to eliminate voltage violation within cluster and minimize its active power loss through reactive power compensation of PV units and reactive power devices. The effectiveness and feasibility of proposed method have been demonstrated via simulation tests on a real 10.5kV feeder in China.
