Abstract
More and more power electronic (PE) converters areused in power systems, especially microgrids, due to theintegration of new energy and controllable loads. The PEdevice brings harmonic pollution and adds inductive andcapacitive components into power systems. When thesePE devices interact with each other or with the powersystem, grid instability (oscillations) might occur. Thispaper introduces a modularized PE-integrated microgridtheoretical model and presents the reprehensive resultsof the overall evaluation on the microgrid instabilityissues caused by the interaction in both grid-connectedand islanded microgrids by using this theoretical model.
