Abstract
This paper presents a new probabilistic approach foroptimal planning of high voltage distribution grids, whichaims to increase the transmission capacity by consideringthe environmental and weather conditions. For thispurpose, the developed planning method determinesadmissible values for the current rating of the particularlines for individual seasons of the year. Then, these can beprocessed in the time-series-based probabilistic networkplanning in compliance with the (n-1) criterion in order toincrease the allowable transmission capacity by optimalutilization of the available grid infrastructure. In addition, the paper shows the synergy effects between the constantcurrent rating values and the use of a dynamic curtailment.Publisher
