Abstract
Power system oscillations jeopardize the secure operation and the integrity of electrical power systems. The main aim of this work is to mitigate inter-area power oscillations motivated by the fact that many catastrophic worldwide blackouts were due to unstable inter-area oscillations. This study should explore dual fuzzy logic controllers to orchestrate a coordinated switching strategy for dual novel dynamic braking resistor models for mitigation of inter-area power oscillations in Kundur’s two-area test system. The obtained simulation results establish exhilarating confidence and optimism that the proposed scheme will effectively mitigate inter-area power oscillations in accordance with a wide perturbation spectrum.Publisher
