Abstract
IEC 61850-9-2 Sampled Values (SV) communication can be used within a substation such as for protection schemes, but also from several substations to a centre whichperforms SV evaluation for real-time state estimation in the network. The aim of this paper is to compare different communication technologies for the long distance transfer of IEC 61850-9-2 SV, which were evaluated during an experiment in a real substation. A measurement according to the telecommunication standards was performed for the evaluation of the communication technologies. Another measurement which evaluated number of lost SV during the specific time and latency of SV was carried out in an experimental data centre. Based on the performed measurements, use cases for each communication technology were determined.Publisher
