dc.description.abstractSUMMARYDue to advances in computing technology, Distribution System Operators (DSOs) are now able to go one step further towards advanced real time representation and management of the Low Voltage (LV) network. Through improved data processing solutions, the observability, management and operation of the LV network can be improved, and, the deployment of smart meters and other technologies provides a large amount of data is available that can be used for this purpose. The European Union funded UPGRID project provided the vehicle to show how existing smart metering deployments can be extended towards full observability of the LV network and remote control.
