The intermittency in the power produced by the wind farms and the photovoltaic plants can lead to unacceptable variations in voltage levels of electrical distribution systems nodes. The System Operators (DSO) propose network connection codes with increasingly demanding technical requirements, both in permanent and transitory state. The objective of this study is to demonstrate the positive effect of the STATCOM as devices for the integration of wind farm turbines and photovoltaic plants to the electrical distribution system as a necessary mechanism for stable operation of the network.Publisher
