Abstract
As a country rich in renewable energy resources (including wind, tidal and hydro), many of which are in remote areas lacking electricity network capacity, Scotland is a country at the forefront of the challenges associated with the future smart grid. This paper disseminates key learnings from local energy projects in Scotland and their contribution to meeting societal objectives of a secure and sustainable electricity system at an affordable cost.Publisher
