Abstract
Energy communities and peer-to-peer energy exchangesare expected to play an important role in the energy transition. In this context, the blockchain approach can beemployed to foster this decentralized energy market. Ourgoal is to determine the design that should allow a Distribution System Operator (DSO) to accept peer-to-peer energy exchanges based on a distributed ledger supported bythe blockchain technology. To this end, we evaluate several designs based on criteria such as the acceptance of thewholesale/retail market, the resilience of the consensus toapprove a block, the accuracy, traceability, privacy and security of the proposed schemes.1Publisher
